News of the Day

2-24: The NRA Archive is updated today with the monthly NRA page features for February: Armed Citizen, Standing Guard, and The President's Column. Each of these features are valuable, information packed columns that you will find extremely helpful and interesting even if you are not a firearms owner yourself. For one, it keeps you apprised of the relative honesty and the intentions of the politicos you vote for. For another, it shows you the value of owning your own firearm for protection, recreation, hobby, business, and because for now anyway... you can. The Archives are available any day of the month from the NRA page in the Extra department, look for the link down at the bottom of the table of contents.

2-22: Team Crunchinator in the Hobbies department reports that 9 world units have been crunched last week earning us 2,202 more points. Our world standing is on the increase.

2-19: "With the holidays over and hunting season wrapping up for many of us, winter is a time when there's not much happening. What better time than now to take advantage of the many recreational shooting, gun safety training and marksmanship competition opportunities available to us?" Read more on the President's Column in the NRA section of the Extra department.

2-15: Team Crunchinator over in the Hobbies department weighs in with 5 work units crunched and 1,257 points earned. Doesn't sound like much because it is 2 days shy of being a full week, but it has increased us in the percentage standings, something we were slowly falling behind in.

2-10: "With Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's enthusiastic embrace of a "binding" United Nations treaty on global control of international trade in firearms and ammunition, the Obama administration has officially become an aggressive participant in what international gun-ban groups have hailed as a "first step" in their march on our sovereignty and ultimately on private ownership of firearms in every nation." More on this on the Standing Guard page in the NRA section of the Extra department.

2-8: The first weeks results for the returned to action Folding@home page look pretty good. Team Crunchinator earned 4,055 points by crunching 17 work units. Sounds like two weeks work but hell, we'll take it. It's going down in the Hobbies department today.

2-5: I've finally gotten old enough that a picture of me at 57 years old doesn't look so bad anymore. Go witness my aging carcass in the Photo Album section of the Extra department.

2-4: A joke! A joke! Run read the joke!

2-3: "Armed Citizen" is an article in the "American Rifleman" very similar to one of my favorite feature articles in "Guns & Ammo" called "Armed Response". These articles consist of short accounts describing the use of firearms by private citizens to protect lives and property. These are the stories that the mainstream media ignore because they are not so much interested in presenting the truth as much as they are interested in furthering their anti-gun agendas. Some very interesting reading here. It's going on in the NRA section of the Extra department.

2-1: As we knock the foul stench of January off our sandals and stride confidently into February, we bid the stale idiocy of last month a long overdue farewell and good riddance. Now we can all look forward to fresh idiocy in the month of February who's expiration date is still a full month away. If you insist on living in the past you can visit January 2010 in the News Archives.

No news on the weekends. The Joke of the Weak is updated every weekday. As usual, the Team Crunchinator page is updated every Monday. The NRA pages: President's Column, Standing Guard and Armed Citizen are updated each month. To catch up on news past visit, the News Archives.
