10-29: The NRA Archive is updated today with the monthly NRA page features for October: Armed Citizen, Standing Guard, and The President's Column. Each of these features are valuable, information packed columns that you will find extremely helpful and interesting even if you are not a firearms owner yourself. For one, it keeps you apprised of the relative honesty and the intentions of the politicos you vote for. For another, it shows you the value of owning your own firearm for protection, recreation, hobby, business, and because for now anyway... you can. The Archives are available any day of the month from the NRA page in the Extra department, look for the link down at the bottom of the table of contents.
10-27: A new week means new Folding@home results. this week we crunched 9 work units and earned 2,016 points. We should have done better due to how little the computer was used last week but there were probably server problems getting a new unit to download. Aw well, the important thing is that we did our part for the betterment of the human condition. Check out our ongoing results on the Team Crunchinator page in the Hobbies department.
10-24: I realize that I just posted the Standing Guard page two days ago but I was too busy last week to post anything at all so now I have to double up on this feature. Today the President's Column is updated in the NRA section of the Extra department.
10-22: "This is just a peek at the Soros connection and of UN-dominated orders that will mark an Obama regime. It is reason enough for gun owners to band together on election day and truly vote for "Change" - changing Obama's smug plans for our lives and our freedom by voting NObama in NOvember." What was Wayne LaPierre referring to? Find out in the Standing Guard section of the NRA page in the Extra department.
10-20: OK, my schedule has been turned on it's head and I'm struggling to find time to update the website. Today Team Crunchinator in the Hobbies department gets the honors.
10-13: Now that Termie only has 5 hands, his game playing has slowed enough so that Team Crunchinator got in a decent week last week with Folding@home. Check out our progress and Termie's missing hand all going on in the Hobbies department.
10-10: I'm eating all the chilies I can. Honest. Although it's admittedly low this year, I'm getting my total fix of chilies. Get your hot fix in the Chili Pepper Gardener's Diary in the Chili Peppers section of the Hobbies department.
10-8: "Armed Citizen" is an article in the "American Rifleman" very similar to one of my favorite feature articles in "Guns & Ammo" called "Armed Response". These articles consist of short accounts describing the use of firearms by private citizens to protect lives and property. These are the stories that the mainstream media ignore because they are not so much interested in presenting the truth as much as they are interested in furthering their anti-gun agendas. Some very interesting reading here. It's going on in the NRA section of the Extra department.
10-6: We had a pretty bad week at Folding@home last week. Team Crunchinator only crunched 9 work units earning 2,094 points because Termie left one of his games running all night. I've removed one of his hands and have epoxied it to the frame of his computer monitor as a warning. Don't worry, he's a termite, he'll grow it back. You can witness his public humiliation in the Hobbies department.
10-3: The slow motion harvest of the chili crop continues. I'm going to have a lot go to waste this year because I'm not drying any chilies, just eating what I can fresh. Check it out in the Chili Pepper Gardener's Diary in the Chili Peppers section of the Hobbies department.
10-1: Like a fetid slab of information highway road kill on baking hot summer pavement, September 2008 is shoveled up and unceremoniously tossed into the bin of bygone moments. You are welcome to pay your respects to it in the News Archives, but expect to be crowded to the side by the crows, coyotes, and homeless bums looking for a free meal. Bring your own catsup.
