11-28: The NRA Archive is updated today with the monthly NRA page features for November: Armed Citizen, Standing Guard, and The President's Column. Each of these features are valuable, information packed columns that you will find extremely helpful and interesting even if you are not a firearms owner yourself. For one, it keeps you apprised of the relative honesty and the intentions of the politicos you vote for. For another, it shows you the value of owning your own firearm for protection, recreation, hobby, business, and because for now anyway... you can. The Archives are available any day of the month from the NRA page in the Extra department, look for the link down at the bottom of the table of contents.
11-24: Another normal week for Folding@home. We earned 2,722 points by crunching 11 work units. We are starting to loose ground against other newer and more powerful computers with multiple cores. Hopefully Apple will get off it's duff and produce the next generation of Mac Pro towers for me to buy. Meanwhile, watch Team Crunchinator slowly decline in the standings in the Hobbies department.
11-19: Read NRA president's John Sigler try to warn you against voting for Obama on the President's Column in the NRA section of the Extra department. Too late now, kiss your Second Amendment rights goodbye.
11-17: Team Crunchinator has had an awful time over the last couple of weeks. For some reason, the completed units would not upload to Folding@Home and the number of units plummeted during that time frame. Termie downloaded the latest folding and front-end software and somehow he eventually got it working again but not without big losses over the last two weeks. We did manage to crunch 9 work units and earn 2,250 points. We'll do better next week. It's all happening today in the Hobbies department.
11-12: Wayne LaPierre has some words of wisdom to give you prior to stepping into the voting booth last week. You should have listened! Oh well, late but not irrelevant. Check out the Standing Guard page in the NRA section of the Hobbies department.
11-10: Team Crunchinator is having some problems with Folding@home. We are unable to receive our last request work unit and as a result there were only a paltry 9 work units completed for a measly 2,094 points. That has some major suckage attached to it and Termie is looking into the problem! Witness our feeble effort last week in the Hobbies department.
11-7: "Armed Citizen" is an article in the "American Rifleman" very similar to one of my favorite feature articles in "Guns & Ammo" called "Armed Response". These articles consist of short accounts describing the use of firearms by private citizens to protect lives and property. These are the stories that the mainstream media ignore because they are not so much interested in presenting the truth as much as they are interested in furthering their anti-gun agendas. Some very interesting reading here. It's going on in the NRA section of the Extra department.
11-5: Everything gets bumped back a day due to rolling the month over on Monday. Today Monday's Folding@home results get posted and I'm happy to say that we had a good week. We crunched 12 work units and earned 2,922 points. Be happy for us and visit our Team Crunchinator page in the Hobbies department.
11-3: The sticky haunted mess that is October is today ground into dust under the hobnail jackboots of November. Gone are the stupid pirate costumes, gorging on candy, and worshiping pumpkins. Here to replace it are stupid pilgrim costumes, gorging on turkey, and worshiping cranberries. Finally, all that silliness is behind us and we can get on with our lack of lives. However, if you miss the good old days of egging your neighbors and soaping their windows you can drag your ghost infested carcass into the News Archives and give October a big wet sticky kiss. The rest of us will be here in November, blunderbuss over our knee, patiently waiting for your foolishness to end.
