News of the Day

3-31: Team Crunchinator weighs in this week with some pretty good results. 2,324 points were earned by crunching 11 work units. You can review our weekly results as well as learn about Folding@home on the Team Crunchinator page in the Hobbies department.

3-26: The NRA Archive is updated today with the monthly NRA page features for March: Armed Citizen, Standing Guard, and The President's Column. Each of these features are valuable, information packed columns that you will find extremely helpful and interesting even if you are not a firearms owner yourself. For one, it keeps you apprised of the relative honesty and the intentions of the politicos you vote for. For another, it shows you the value of owning your own firearm for protection, recreation, hobby, business, and because for now anyway... you can. The Archives are available any day of the month from the NRA page in the Extra department, look for the link down at the bottom of the table of contents.

3-24: The results for last weeks efforts with Folding@home are in. We had a good week, crunching 10 big work units for a total of 2,324 points. View Team Crunchinator's results in the Hobbies department.

3-21: Bad news on the Chili Peppers front. Read all about it in the Chili Pepper Gardener's Diary in the Hobbies department.

3-19: "Will America's first woman president be a Godsend to the cause of freedom - as were [NRA's female] Presidents Hammer and Froman - or could she be freedoms' worst nightmare?" A vital question from John Sigler the President of the NRA as recounted in the President's Column found in the NRA section of the Extra department.

3-17: Team Crunchinator in the Hobbies department is updated today. We had a good week last week, earning 2,572 points by crunching 11 work units. Yay us.

3-14: The 2008 chili pepper growing season is kick started today. Seeds are down! Check it out in the Chili Pepper Gardeners Diary in the Chili Peppers section of the Hobbies department.

3-12: "Gun-free zones? Whether it is by edict of private business, or by government, there is no proclamation that can stop an evil person from committing and evil act. There is no law that can stop an evil person from obtaining an instrument to commit evil. Look at our worst, most restrictive top-security prisons, Violent criminals - under 24-hour monitored lock-down and constant scrutiny of guards - make lethal weapons to commit murder and assault." These unassailable words are from Wayne LaPierre, Vice President of the NRA in his monthly column "Standing Guard" in American Rifleman, a NRA publication. You can read the full text in the NRA section of the Extra department.

3-10: Another good week at Folding@home in the Hobbies department as Team Crunchinator earns 2,512 points by crunching 10 work units.

3-6: I didn't get around to updating the Folding@home page due to extenuating circumstances. Team Crunchinator in the Hobbies department is updated today with the results gleaned on Monday. It was a pretty good week too with 2,706 points earned and 12 work units crunched.

3-5: "Armed Citizen" is an article in the "American Rifleman" very similar to one of my favorite feature articles in "Guns & Ammo" called "Armed Response". These articles consist of short accounts describing the use of firearms by private citizens to protect lives and property. These are the stories that the mainstream media ignore because they are not so much interested in presenting the truth as much as they are interested in furthering their anti-gun agendas. Some very interesting reading here. It's going on in the NRA section of the Extra department.

No news on the weekends. The Joke of the Weak is updated every weekday. As usual, the Team Crunchinator page is updated every Monday. The NRA pages: President's Column, Standing Guard and Armed Citizen are updated each month. To catch up on news past visit, the News Archives.
