6-30: Meh. A mediocre day for Team Crunchinator in the Hobbies department for Folding@home. We crunched 9 work units and earned 2,058 points. So so good, not so bad. Although our percentile standing keeps climbing, our place keeps dropping slightly. This can happen because of all the new people joining Folding@home. What we need is a dual quad-core computer. That would be a genuine kick in the pants and it is in our future barring armageddon.
6-27: I got a picture of the late sprouted Thai chili plants for you pepper lovers out there. Haul your fiery hinny down to the Chili Pepper Gardener's Diary in the Chili Peppers section of the Hobbies department.
6-25: The NRA Archive is updated today with the monthly NRA page features for June: Armed Citizen, Standing Guard, and The President's Column. Each of these features are valuable, information packed columns that you will find extremely helpful and interesting even if you are not a firearms owner yourself. For one, it keeps you apprised of the relative honesty and the intentions of the politicos you vote for. For another, it shows you the value of owning your own firearm for protection, recreation, hobby, business, and because for now anyway... you can. The Archives are available any day of the month from the NRA page in the Extra department, look for the link down at the bottom of the table of contents.
6-23: Team Crunchinator over in the Hobbies department reports a good week, not great, but not bad at all. We crunched 10 large work units for a respectable 2,252 points. Check it out.
6-18: "Barack Obama's position is even more anti-gun than the District of Columbia's! Obama's record is clear-his concept of "hope and change" will surely result in anti-gun/anti-freedom changes bringing more hopelessness for the most helpless in our society." More of this in the President's Column in the NRA section of the Extra department.
6-16: We had a fair week last week at folding@home. Although Team Crunchinator only crunched 9 work units, they must have been doozies because we earned a respectable 2,105 points doing so. Check it out in the Hobbies detartment, where all our progress is stored.
6-13: The chili peppers are enjoying the warm weather and bright sunshine of Southern California. Read more in the Chili Pepper Gardener's Diary in the Chili Peppers section of the Hobbies department.
6-11: "Civil rights. That's what the NRA has been all about from the beginning" Read how civil rights translates to the second amendment in the Standing Guard page in the NRA section of the Extra department.
6-9: An absolutely great week last week at folding@home. Team Crunchinator pounded out a whopping 3,132 points by crunching 12 work units! Momma mia that's a some a spicy meata balla! It's being done on the Hobbies page right now as you read.
6-6: The Chili Pepper Gardener's Diary in the Chili Peppers section of the Hobbies department is updated today. This year's meager crop is set to go, it's only a matter of time now. Well, and watering and fertilizing and pruning and inspecting and spraying.
6-5: The Monday results from Folding@home are in at the Team Crunchinator site. There was a delay presenting them because of the monthly roll-over and "things" taking up my time. It wasn't a great week but it wasn't so bad either. We crunched 10 work units and earned about 2,300 points. It's going on today in the Hobbies department.
6-4: "Armed Citizen" is an article in the "American Rifleman" very similar to one of my favorite feature articles in "Guns & Ammo" called "Armed Response". These articles consist of short accounts describing the use of firearms by private citizens to protect lives and property. These are the stories that the mainstream media ignore because they are not so much interested in presenting the truth as much as they are interested in furthering their anti-gun agendas. Some very interesting reading here. It's going on in the NRA section of the Extra department.
6-2: As we knock the dust of May from our sandals and stride confidently into the month of June, I'd like to take this opportunity to warn my fellow males about the coming onslaught of June Brides. Run like hell and don't look back, you don't want to be the grouper that gets reeled in, you want to be the sailfish swimming deep and free! If you are my wife reading this, I'm just joking my little snookie wookie huggy bunny, life has never been better!! Everybody else, you can catch up on last month by jumping to the Month of May in the News Archives.
