12-31: The NRA Archive is updated today with the monthly NRA page features for December: Armed Citizen, Standing Guard, and The President's Column. Each of these features are valuable, information packed columns that you will find extremely helpful and interesting even if you are not a firearms owner yourself. For one, it keeps you apprised of the relative honesty and the intentions of the politicos you vote for. For another, it shows you the value of owning your own firearm for protection, recreation, hobby, business, and because for now anyway... you can. The Archives are available any day of the month from the NRA page in the Extra department, look for the link down at the bottom of the table of contents.
12-29: Hope you had a great Christmas. Me? Oh let's just say that Santa is a stinkin' bastard and that I'm going to need carbon credits for all the coal I got in my stockings. Guess who's getting exlax chocolate chip cookies and milk next year? So anyway, the Team Crunchinator page in the Hobbies department is updated today. Bah humbug.
12-24: "Your NRA is America's foremost defender of hunting and hunters' rights, and hunters are among America's most important stakeholders in the Right to Keep and Bear Arms." This from John Sigler President of the NRA. I'd argue that home and self defense are equally important, but it's not my column. Head over to the President's Column in the NRA section of the Extra department to see how you can help hunters become more involved in their constitutional rights as Americans.
12-22: It's Monday so today must be the Folding@home results. Yep, it's the Folding@home results. Yep. 2,522 points earned by crunching 10 work units. Yep yep, those were the Folding@home results. Yep. Yep. Team Crunchinator - Hobbies department ... you know the drill!
12-19: After being abandoned but not forgotten, the Battle Cat's Litterbox is updated today. Applecrypt Mods has contacted me and told me to get my furry little cat hinny into gear and fix my broken link to them. Rather than being dragged through a long expensive court battle I have decided not to make a bunch of cutthroat lawyers rich and simply cave in and fix the link.
12-17: "NRA. We are a solemn partnership; a bond between individual Americans who are always willing to fight for Freedom, and those of us privileged to work on your behalf on the frontlines of liberty." Read more from Wayne LaPierre in the Standing Guard feature in the NRA section of the Extra department.
12-15: Well here we go, Monday already, too bad inflation doesn't include weekend days. Team Crunchinator over in the Hobbies department had a pretty good week last week. They crunched 11 work units and earned 1,782 points for the team. I believe that chaining Termie to the wall away from his video games has contributed to the improvement in the results. I just got to remember to feed him once in a while.
12-12: Marinus Ngullie has updated the information on the Naga King Chilies from Nagaland. This folks, is the bhut jolokia, the worlds hottest chili, you can stop looking for the next hottest thing to fry your tongue with. Read all about Nagaland's Naga Kings on the Chili Facts page in the Chili Peppers section of the Hobbies department.
12-10: "Armed Citizen" is an article in the "American Rifleman" very similar to one of my favorite feature articles in "Guns & Ammo" called "Armed Response". These articles consist of short accounts describing the use of firearms by private citizens to protect lives and property. These are the stories that the mainstream media ignore because they are not so much interested in presenting the truth as much as they are interested in furthering their anti-gun agendas. Some very interesting reading here. It's going on in the NRA section of the Extra department.
12-8: OK, Monday again and we are all still alive... at least those reading this are. My condolences go out to all of you readers who died since last weekend. I hope you had the presence of mind to utter some famous last words more brilliant than "You're on my hair" or "I'd have gotten away with it if it were for those meddling teenagers". How did I get off on this track? What I meant to say was Team Crunchinator in the Hobbies department earned 2,426 points by crunching 10 work units in last weeks Folding@Home project.
12-5: I've been in contact for awhile with Y. Marinus Ngullie from the Department of Plant Pathology Medziphema, Nagaland India and he has sent me some great pictures of Naga King Chilies from the hills of Nagaland. He wanted you folks to see some of the pictures he has sent along to me from his website Naga Fragrance. I've put them onto my Chili Pepper Facts page in the Chili Peppers section of the Hobbies department.
12-3: Looks like Team Crunchinator is back to functioning normally, Termie couldn't assure me that the past connection problem was solved. Looks like upgrading everything did the trick. We earned 2,390 points last week by crunching 10 work units. It's all going down today in the Hobbies department.
12-1: It's a new month and time to roll over the website to accommodate it. You can find the news for November over in the News Archives. I'm looking forward to Christmas and New Years, I don't expect much loot this year but I really enjoy the season. We have decorated for Christmas and it feels nice and homey here. Hope you all have a great Christmas with family and friends.
