BOO this Week:
10-31: Welcome to the Haunted House of Wacks... and before it consumes your soul... Happy Halloween!
10-29: It is that time of year again, above you will see photographic evidence of why my family moved to another state while I was in a gas station restroom. Happy Halloween!
10-28: After all the money I have poured into the SciFi genera you would think at least one alien would bother to let us overhear his cell phone conversation in gratitude! But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Anyway, I'll continue to listen for it at the SETI page in the Hobbies department.
10-25: Hey there is finally an update this week and nobody made me do it. It was straight from my heart and it didn't have anything to do with getting you "gimmie an update" yay-hoos offa my back. Go check out the new High School Art in the Art Portfolio section of the Hobbies department.
10-24: I'll post something this week, I promise. I have been busy working on another site.
10-21: Continuing the slide into last place in the SETI@home project, I have finally averaged over 10 hours per unit, up from only 9 hours per unit. Up in this case is not a good thing. Check it out at the SETI page over in the Hobbies department.
10-18: My wife and I got a kitten from the local animal shelter a couple of weeks ago but he immediately got extremely sick, he almost died. He just stopped eating and drinking and went down to being a feather weight skin-bag of bones and eyeballs during his illness. I took him to the vet every morning for an IV, we force fed him, gave him eye drops and nose drops, antihistamines, and injections of antibiotics and vitamins. Then after a week, suddenly like flipping a switch, he was well! He was ravenous and thirsty, he could breath! Now today he is a ball of fire and he gets introduced to the other cat, a massive yellow tom! Lion and tigers and bears oh my! So without further adieu, may I introduce to the world, young Master Cagey, a gray-brown tabby of 10 weeks.
10-16: The Chili Pepper page gets an update today in the Chili Facts department. Strap on your propeller beanies and get set to get a little bit of the history of chili peppers. It is all happening in the Hobbies department.
10-15: 2 Create A Web Site dot com contacted me and wanted to swap links. I visited the site and I think it is a wonderful place for web building beginners to mine valuable information. In fact, their motto is "A beginner's guide to creating a web site online" and they deliver on that promise. SO... new on the Web Building page is a link to that site. Check it out.
10-14: The long inexorable slide into last place continues as my aging machine continues to chug away at the never-ending stream of SETI radio telescope data. Check it out at the SETI page in the Hobbies department.
10-11: I have fixed up the Resume page using a different technology that will allow the greenbar paper to always be the length of the resume no matter what font size you are viewing it with. I changed the font so that it would not look so fricken huge on a PC or in OSX browsers. Lastly I adjusted the margins to something more reasonable looking.
10-10: Charlton Heston, the NRA president, has some sad news for us concerning his health. You can read all about it in his own words in the President's Column on the NRA page in the Extra department.
10-9: OK, everybody back to the Hobbies department and check out the changes to the SETI page. At first glance you may ask, "What"s different?" but if you scroll down some you will see that the vertical bar on the left now will automatically extend to the end of the list of results no matter how long or short it is. Although I am past the 750 work unit certificate, SETI@home has added that certification so I have included it on the page as well. Also there were a couple of other minor cosmetic changes.
10-8: Britain—where good people are disarmed and evil people are armed to the teeth—is today the most dangerous nation in the developed world, declared so by the United Nations. This is what liberal American politicians are designing your future to be too: via the same route Britain took - gun control. Check out the scary facts on the Standing Guard page in the NRA section of the Extra department.
10-7: Remember when the saying, "Keep looking up" was popular? I'm sure glad they have radio telescopes doing that nowadays, cause it was killing my neck and damned if I'm going to have my upper spine surgically altered with a gate hinge . Check out this week's automated up-looking on the SETI page over in the Hobbies department.
10-4: The Armed Citizen is an article depicting accounts of ordinary law abiding citizens using firearms to protect lives property. Check out this months installment in the NRA section of the Extra department.
10-3: I found a neat thingy for you OSX gamers out there. Some folks out there have been busy wasting their lives creating an OSX port for that old classic Quake 1. Be the first on your block to do the last thing on your block the last guy did last who was always the slowest to do things first! Check out the Quake 1 link in the Games section of the Lynx page.
10-1: Stand by, the trashing of October is now under way. Today is the first day of the rest of the month.
As usual, the Joke of the Weak is updated every weekday by 8AM PST and the SETI page is updated every Monday. The NRA pages President's Column, Standing Guard and Armed Citizen are updated each month.
