Archived News for the Month of July 2002

New this Week:

7-30: "God grants liberty only to those who love it and are always ready to guard and defend it." -Daniel Webster. Visit Gary's NRA page.

7-29: Not much updating going on. Between camping, Apple's .mac bombshell, and my work developing another new website; this website has taken a beating of neglect. That will change eventually when things level off. For now, here is what you have all been waiting for: Ta da da daaaa... another SETI update in the Hobbies department... HEY! Was that a groan??

7-25: I just got back from camping. Probably nothing will be updated this week except the Joke of the Weak.

7-22: The space between my ears must be as empty as the vastness of the galaxy because I'm still patiently downloading and crunching SETI data. See the latest results on the SETI page over in the Hobbies department.

7-18: The House of Wacks refuses to lower itself by belittling stevejobsblozgoats Apple for their unhelpful spanishinquisition decision to levy new readmylipsnonewtaxes fees on shillsdopesandmorons those who purchased their mickeymousemofo Mac OS with the promise of neverrealizeditsownpatheticdream iTools as part of the patsyvictimchumpmarkdupestoogesucker bargain. Instead, we will be big about it and move on. There is a new link on the Web Building page for the Web Developer's Virtual Library. Look on the left hand list of links for the "NEW" logo.

7-17: The House of Wacks suffers a major setback today as Apple recends it's 3 year old offer of 20 Megs of free online disk space. Over half of the House of Wacks content resides on Apple's site. I am working to resolve the situation and find another online provider for my material.

7-16: An alert visitor informed me that all my SETI completion certificates displayed 100 units completed whether they clicked on the 100 unit certificate or the 1000 unit certificate. SETI had quietly changed the links while nobody was looking. They are fixed now. Thanks to Nathan Kline for the heads up.

7-15: The SETI Page gets its weekly update. Do you suppose ET is still using that garage-junk transmitter he built in the movie? The results I'm getting would reflect that... anyway it's happening in the Hobbies department.

7-12: The High School Art page gets updated over in the Art Portfolio secion of the Hobbies department. Check out Fore & Aft and see for yourself why women make the best artists models.

7-10: The Chili Facts page in the Chili Pepper section of the Hobbies department is updated with a medical treatise on pain management through the use of chilies. Look for the Pain Relief link near the top of the page.

7-9: The Special Events page is updated in the NRA section of the Extra department. Look for "Firearm Refresher Course" for a poignant and sometime humorous ABCs of firearm ownership.

7-8: It is back to the grindstone after a nice week off. SETI over in the Hobbies department is updated today. Bet you didn't see that one coming!

7-5: One last day of goofing off at the House of Wacks and it's back to work next week. Meanwhile the Joke of the Weak never missed a beat.

7-4: Happy Fourth of July everyone! God bless America!!

7-1: New month to trash! First up is my never ending head-bang against the radio telescopes of SETI. Check it out on the SETI page in the Hobbies department.

As usual, the Joke of the Weak is updated every weekday by 8AM PST and the SETI page is updated every Monday. The NRA pages President's Column, Standing Guard and Armed Citizen are updated each month.
